About coach todd hickman

At Harbor View Aquatics, we celebrate the journey of our athletes, from their first swim to chasing Olympic dreams. Led by Coach Todd Hickman,  with an extraordinary 22-year competitive career. 

Todd’s remarkable achievements include qualifying for the Olympic Trials three times (1984, 1988, 1992) with top-16 finishes, earning a 4th-place finish in the 400 IM at USA Nationals, and competing as a USA Junior National Team member (1984-1985). A University of Arizona full-scholarship athlete (1984-1988), Todd was named an NCAA All-American in 1987 and ranked among the top 15 in the USA and top 25 in the world during his peak years (1984-1988, 1991-1992).

As a coach, Todd’s expertise spans every level—from teaching young swimmers to love and be safe in the water to guiding athletes to Olympic Trials, Division 1 colleges, and national age-group record-breaking performances. Recognized on the 2016/2017 National Junior Team Coaches List, Todd’s proudest moments include watching his swimmers grow in confidence and skill. But he’ll tell you his greatest accomplishment is instilling a lifelong passion for swimming and water safety in children.

Under Todd’s leadership since 2013, Harbor View Swim Team (HVST) has flourished, fostering a tight-knit family of athletes who thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment.  Coach Todd believe in the transformative power of sports to unite and inspire. His mission is to empower every athlete, from beginners to elite competitors, to chase their dreams and unlock their full potential.
